About the Foundation

History

Khayming is the name of a Chinese school in Surabaya ranging from kindergarten to high school. Marga Go founded the school from 1953 to 1966. Khayming alumni, scattered all over the world, came up with the idea to meet up, reconnect, and exchange experiences. This idea finally came to fruition in 2007 with the establishment of a foundation called Yayasan Karyabakti Mulia. The foundation is committed to making a real contribution to the development of education in Indonesia. Initially, the foundation was only active in the arts and culture, particularly traditional Indonesian and Chinese dance. All activities took place at the foundation’s office on Jalan Ahmad Jaiz 34, C6-8, Surabaya.

In May 2017, the realization of this idea finally became a reality. Construction of a school building for preschool children at the early childhood education (PAUD), playgroup, and kindergarten levels has been completed. Educational personnel (principals and teachers) and administrative staff have been recruited. Similarly, the school preparation concept related to the vision, mission, curriculum, and learning programs has been designed and is ready to be implemented in learning activities.

Early childhood education plays a fundamental role in a child’s future education. The foundation is committed to helping the government produce a high-quality, virtuous, intelligent, responsible, independent, and creative next generation. To this end, the foundation has established KHAYMING SCHOOL, a school that teaches three languages: Indonesian, English, and Mandarin.
